I took the rathole down a couple years ago. I was moving the site to a different hosting plan and figured I would take that opportunity to re-design the site before I put it back up. I had good intentions, but one thing after another kept getting in the way, and it just never happened. What’s the saying? “Life is what happens while you’re busy making plans.” There were many events, releases and other times that made me want to re-launch the rathole over the last couple years … Hearing a new band that I really wanted to let people know about, the Van Halen album that FINALLY came out, hell, even just a new year’s day, seemed like a good time to start, but every time I went to do it, it always lead to a series of other things that needed to be done first and eventually that won out. If I have learned anything over these last two years, it’s that there is no good time to do it, and so, that is why it was, very un-cerimoniously, re-opened at 2:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning in September. If I wait for the perfect time, it could never happen. There are some missing sections, there is this half-assed blog, a lot of cds that need to be added and even more that need to be reviewed, but at least now it’s up. I’ll keep adding the missing, fixing the broken and streamlining the design, but I’ll do it in plain view. What’s the worst that could happen?
